2006-09-07 • The first of the four matches today saw a close win by England over India. Pakistan achieved a clear 4:0 win over Japan and is now in the lading position of pool A. The third match saw two favorites for the title: Spain defeated Australia 3:1. The Netherlands already had to play, as well as India, their second match of the tournament. The dutch team found the net twice against South Africa and took the lead in pool B.
