FIRST VIP TICKET WAS PRESENTED TO
FRANZ BECKENBAUER
2006-01-06 • In the course of a new year's reception on Friday in Frankfurt held by the organization committee of the FIFA World Cup 2006 the first VIP ticket of the BDO Hockey World Cup Men was handed over to the president of the organization committee Franz Beckenbauer.

"It was our wish to hand over this first VIP ticket as an act of friendship between the two World Cups taking place in Germany in 2006. We were very glad that the FIFA World Cup committee enthusiastically took part in this idea," said Uschi Schmitz, chairman of the DHB. Together with the coach of the national team Bernhard Peters, captain of the national team Timo Weß and the head of the Hockey World Cup organization committee Joachim Hürter, Uschi Schmitz travelled to Frankfurt to hand over the ticket.
