KOREA MAKES THREE POINTS AGAINST ONE OF THE FAVOURITES

The Netherlands came into the match as favourites but quickly had to recognize their opponents capabilities as not only equal, but often superior to their own. You in particular caused frequent problems for the dutch defense and actually taking the lead for his team with the first goal of the match. The Dutch then increased their pressure on the Koreans, who responded with dangerous counter attacks. You extended the Korean lead after one such counter attack in the 13th minute, finishing with well placed reverse hit.

The Dutch once again had to up their game to match the Koreans, earning more chances to break through the Korean defense. A beautiful pass from Noojer, 12 minutes into the second half, allowed Brouwer to score the first goal for Holland. The Dutch team played with 4 strikers pushing for the equalizer. With all the opportunities they created, it was only a matter of time before this was achieved. The goal came from the ever popular Taekema who fired the ball into the far corner, out of reach of the Korean goal keeper.

The match was open once again. The well formed attacks by Holland and the exciting counter attacks from the Koreans thrilled the crowd. As before, it was just such a counter attack that finally ended the Dutch hopes. A quickly taken free hit by Kim found Yoon’s stick and the ball found the back of the net. 3:2 to Korea.

Holland made many attempts on the Korean goal in the remaining 12 minutes but just couldn’t make them count. All in all, the underdogs of the match came through to victory.
