THE ZERO-NUMBER BRINGS GERMANY AND KOREA THE SEMI-FINAL

Korea started so defensive that it was impossible for Germany to attack. However, the best scene in the game belonged to Christopher Zeller in the 4th minute. His hit was saved by the stick of the Korean keeper Myung Ho Lee. Both teams didn’t want to risk anything what could cost them possibly the semi-finals at the end of the game.

Korea had only one shot on goal in minute 19 by Woon Kon Yeo. Another chance to score got Matthias Witthaus but he wasn’t able to reach a pass by C. Zeller. At the end of the first half the crowd began to heckle the Korean team who kept passing in mid-field without attacking the German half. Likewise the Germans expect Carlos Nevado made no attempts to pressure them.

In the second half it was Nevado again, who hit over the goal with a backhand stroke after a German attack on the right site. Around the 42nd minute C. Zeller and Nevado tried to pressure unsuccessfully on the Korean defence. Sometimes Germany kept the ball over a long time in their rows, nine contacts were possible till one Korean interrupted them. Twenty more minutes to go and Witthaus and Moritz Fürste were not able use a pass by C. Zeller.

During the last ten minutes Germany kept the ball and tried not to make any fault at all. Then the Netherlands could hope for one moment as Seong Jung Kang overtook the Germans Sebastian Biederlack and Philipp Zeller and ran to the circle. But there Björn Emmerling cleared. The crowd started to heckle again and clapped always deridingly when the Germans made a pass. After the final whistle some of the spectators applauded, others kept on heckling.

The German coach Bernhard Peters mentioned his time tried to score over 60 minutes. The Korean coach Sung Jun Cho saw a good fight between his and the German team. Taeke Taekema, player of the Netherlands, said: "If it was tactic than it was good!"
